In early November Valery Dragilev, a correspondent with the national NTV channel, was returning from filming a report in the Leningrad Region when the TV company's Peugeot was involved in an accident. Overtaking a cement mixer, the car collided with a Vaz 11 83 automobile and Dragilev, who was seated in the front passenger seat was thrown through the door window and received serious head injuries. He died several weeks later on 23 November 2007 in a Petersburg hospital.
