[Corrected, 8 May 2010]

On 10 June 2008 Vadim Shevtsov left home and has not been seen since. He was announced missing by the Kuibyshev district police department in Irkutsk.

For several years Shevtsov was one of the noted crime reporters on local TV in the Irkutsk Region. He then moved to the regional press service of the Ministry for Emergency Situations. Recently he left the job there.

The police were not ready to offer any suggestions as to what might have happened to Shevtsov.

PROSECUTOR GENERAL'S OFFICE

On investigating the reported disappearance of V.N. Shevtsov, reported by his wife and colleagues, it was discovered that after leaving the Ministry for Emergency Situations in April 2008 Shevtsov had worked as a taxi driver. On the eve of his disappearance he was involved in a crash and his employer demanded he pay for the damage to his car and to the others involved.

The case was closed.
