The body of Oleg Dolgantsev, a journalist with the Karelia TV and radio company, was found stabbed to death in his flat in Petrozavodsk on 31 March 2001.
Continuing to work as a journalist, and travel throughout Karelia, in his last year Dolgantsev was also in charge of advertising at the company.
The police detained a suspect in the murder and said there was no link with Dolgantsev's work as a journalist.
