Cynthia Elbaum, a freelance US news photographer, was killed on 22 December 1994 during aerial bombardment of Grozny by the Russian air force, one of over 20 reported dead that day.
She had travelled frequently to Russia during the previous five years and was on an assignment for Time magazine when she died.
