Yelena Tkachova, a 26-year-old proof reader with the Kubansky kurier newspaper, was killed by an explosion at the newspaper office in Krasnodar around midday on 29 November 1993.
It is not clear who was responsible for planting the explosive device or why. Ten years later the crime had not been solved.
