Oleg Slabynko, producer of the Moment istiny programme, was shot dead in his own apartment in Moscow on 25 January 1996. Two unidentified individuals rang his doorbell at 11 pm and killed him when he opened the door.
34-year-old Slabynko began work at TASS, then moving to Ostankino before becoming a producer of programmes broadcast on the second nationwide Russian TV channel. In the period before his murder Slabynko was supposedly more interested in developing his advertising agency though his colleagues insisted that it did not bring him great profits.
